Battlefield 3 enters open beta for all

Today is September 29th, 2011 – at least, at the time of writing. That means that the Battlefield 3 open beta has begun. While a number of you have likely already had a chance to jump into the game, now the rest of the world can, too. Operation Metro and the Rush game mode is still the focus.

Although Operation Metro is a largely infantry focused map, which means you won’t be seeing a lot of the vehicle combat and dog fighting in the skies that will be featured elsewhere in the game, it should still provide a pretty good feel for the core gameplay. So far, a lot of the buzz around the ‘net suggests that the game is actually quite fun, even if it is suffering from some notable technical issues. Of course, this is still a beta, after all.

If you haven’t gotten access yet, you can head over to the official beta site for the game and grab the download. Additionally, if you’ve already been playing for the last few days, we’re eager to hear what you think of DICE’s latest entry into the series.
